ABOUT FDP
The Faculty Development Program on Research and Publication Ethics aims to establish a robust ethical foundation in academic research and publishing. Participants will explore fundamental principles of philosophy and the importance of ethical conduct in scientific research, with a focus on intellectual honesty and research integrity. This program will equip faculty with best practices for crafting engaging research manuscripts while delving into the principles of publication ethics.
Participants will also examine the landscape of open access publishing and relevant initiatives, including an introduction to the SHERPA/RoMEO resource, which aids in understanding publisher copyright and selfarchiving policies. The program will address common ethical dilemmas in research and provide insights into various databases, research metrics, and plagiarism detection software.
By the end of the program, faculty members will be wellprepared to navigate ethical challenges in research and publication, fostering a culture of integrity and excellence within their academic institutions.
