About the Programme

The global education sector has undergone a significant transformation, shifting its emphasis from traditional classroom teaching methods to an outcome-based teaching and learning environment. This change has been further highlighted by the recent implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, which aims to bridge the existing gap between current learning outcomes and the desired outcomes through comprehensive reforms. These reforms are intended to enhance the system’s quality, equity, and integrity, starting from early childhood care and education and extending to higher education. Currently, conventional classroom setups prevail, characterized by a teacher-centered approach and fixed curricula. However, the adoption of outcome-based education signifies a transition toward student-centered classrooms, where the primary focus lies on achieving specific learning outcomes. The ongoing Faculty Development Programme aligns with this overarching objective, seeking to drive educational advancement in this direction.

Objectives of the Programme

⚫ to establish a comprehensive and rigorous framework for assessing education

quality to implement clear benchmarks and robust evaluation mechanisms for teacher

education programs to empower institutions to proactively identify areas for systematic

enhancement of effective programs through targeted interventions to foster the seamless acquisition of essential knowledge, skills and competencies among learners

⚫ to cultivate a culture of quality enhancement in education by instituting a transparent system

Regards,
TNTEU & Dr.M.G.R. ERI
