dr. Meera Ragavan, MD (Obs and Gynae), DNB, MINAMS, FRCOG (UK) – 9.30 to 10.30 a.m.

Dr Meera Ragavan graduated from Madras Medical College (MMC) with 32 gold medals including the prestigious Johnstone Gold medal for the best outgoing student. She completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at PGIMER Chandigarh. Subsequently she worked as a Senior Resident in PGIMER, Chandigarh and then in JIPMER, Pondicherry assimilating invaluble experiences in the management of common as well as complex obstetrics and gynecology conditions. She then pursued her further training in the UK completing MRCOG from The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as well as a comprehensive specialist registrar programme. Culminating to this training was her appointment at South Manchester University Hospitals as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

He completed specialist training in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at Madras Medical College (MMC) & Govt. Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College (GMKMCH) in India. He is proficient in managing labour analgesia and leading the labour ward team. As an Asst.Professor in GSMCH, He is involved in making labour analgesia plans like epidural, CSE (Combined Spinal Epidural) & Pudendal blocks, prioritizing and managing a heavy workload efficiently. It involves TAP and quadratus lumborum blocks under USG guidance for Post Caesarean section analgesia. He has received Best Paper awards and has published research papers in reputed journa

Diane (Thuller) DiTomasso, PhD, RN, IBCLC, Clinical Associate Professor, The University of Rhode Island 4-5 p.m.

Dr. Diane DiTomasso is an associate professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Rhode Island. She has more than 25 years of experience in antepartum, labor and delivery, post-partum, newborn, and lactation care settings. At the College of Nursing, she teaches childbearing and reproductive health, simulation, and nursing research courses.

She was honored with the 2019 Journal of Human Lactation’s Best Research Article with a Practice Focus Award, the 2020 Best of JOGNN Award, and the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award. Dr. DiTomasso serves as a member of the National Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing Research Advisory Panel. She is also a member of the awards committee for the ENRS. Dr. DiTomasso is an international board-certified lactation consultant and practices as a lactation consultant at Women and Infant’s Hospital in Providence Rhode Island.
