- Presentation of papers will be in offline mode and shall not exceed 15 minutes
- The date and time of the programme will be intimated later

Paper Guidelines
- Papers should contain original work neither published previously nor under consideration for publication elsewhere
- All the submissions shall go through a peer review process to adjudge their suitability and authenticity
- A confirmation about the acceptance of the manuscript will be sent to e-mail address of the
corresponding author - Title of article, authors’ names, and institutional affiliations shall be indicated
- An abstract of about 200 words and Keywords shall be included
- All citations shall be made using APA format.
- Papers should be typed in “Times New Roman” font with left and top margin of 1.5″ and right and bottom margin 1″ with line spacing of 1.5
- Full paper shall not exceed 5000 words
- Check the paper draft for spelling, grammar and clarity to minimise reviewing changes

Sri Johnson M P (1956-1981) was called to the eternal life unexpectedly while he was a student of MA
Economics Programme in the Department. He was an outstanding student with exceptional academic
records. He secured the highest marks in the BA Economics Programme 1976-79. His teachers and
friends still cherish their fond memories of him and remember him for his simplicity, sincerity and
commitment to life. This award is instituted by Dr Philip M.P in loving memory of his brother for the
annual paper presentation competition being held in the Department.
About the Department
Ever since the college was founded in 1922 as the one offering intermediate course in Humanities and Social Sciences, the Department of Economics was in existence. Undergraduate course in Economics
was started in 1936 and Post Graduate programme in 1957. Right from its inception, it has had a
spectacular track record of eminent faculty members who were the torch bearers of economic
studies in Kerala. The Department has a wonderful galaxy of alumni as well. The Department also has a
legacy of holding invited lectures and conducting national seminars and workshops regularly. The
Department celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the Post Graduate Programme in 2006. The department
has produced a number of PhDs and has become a rallying ground for researchers and scholars alike
About the Institution
St Berchmans College was founded in 1922 with the noble aim to mould young men and women who will
strive for excellence in every walks of life and human service. The College is recognized under sections 2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956. The College was first accredited with ‘Five Star’ in 1999 and reaccredited with ‘A+’ in 2006. In the third cycle of accreditation in 2012, the college was again graded at A. In 2017, the college was again reaccredited with ‘A’ grade. The University Grants Commission and the Government of Kerala granted autonomy to this college in the year 2014. In 1996 and 1997, it won the coveted “R Shankar Award” for the Best College in the State, instituted by the Government of Kerala. In 2004, the UGC identified the College under its “College with Potential for Excellence” scheme. The National Commission for Minority Educational Institution, New Delhi has granted minority status to the college in 2010. All the Science Departments are supported by the FIST of DST, Government of India. It has been ranked among the top 100 Indian colleges by the NIRF since 2018.
